Flat tire dooms Ferguson's bid in Florence's Ralph Latham Memorial

Chris Ferguson invaded Florence Speedway (Walton, Ky.) on Saturday for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned 40th annual Ralph Latham Memorial.

Amongst a star-studded field of 37 entries, Ferguson timed in fourth quickest in his time trial group. Fergy's lap time of 16.558 seconds placed his Live Oak Aesthetic and Family Dentistry-backed No. 22 on the outside pole for his heat race, in which he finished third to advance into the 50-lap finale.

After taking the green flag 12th in the $25,000-to-win affair, Ferguson raced into the top-10 until a flat right rear tire just shy of halfway ended his night prematurely.
