Chris Ferguson earns podium finish with Southern Thunder at Cherokee Speedway

Rolling into his home track of Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Saturday afternoon, Chris Ferguson checked in with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series for the $10,000-to-win Grassy Smith Memorial.

With 30 Super Late Models on hand for the 25th-running of the event, Ferguson qualified third-quickest in his group before he grabbed a heat race victory. Chris started on the pole of the 50-lap feature and led the first 13 circuits before Joseph Joiner was able to get around him. Ferguson settled for a runner-up finish while Jordan Koehler completed the Top-3.
