Ferguson sidelined in season opener at Cherokee Speedway

Behind the wheel of the Live Oak Aesthetic and Family Dentistry No. 22 Late Model, Chris Ferguson kicked off his 2024 season on Sunday afternoon at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) for the Southern All Star Series-sanctioned Ginger Owens Memorial March Madness.

After race officials elected to start the $20,000-to-win A-Main based on qualifying times, Ferguson took the green in ninth but his bid to defend his 2023 victory in the event came to an early end. He got turned around on ninth circuit and went on to retire.
