Seventh-place outing in 35th Blue-Gray 100; podium finish in opener at Cherokee Speedway
Chris Ferguson headed out to his home track of Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Friday afternoon as the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series descended to the Palmetto State for the tour's finale weekend.
In the $8,022-to-win opener, Ferguson missed the setup during his qualifying run, but made up for it in his heat race and finished second. Chris started fifth in the 30-lapper and brought it home third on the podium. He finished behind his cousin Carson Ferguson, who picked up the checkered flag.
On Saturday, Chris took a provisional to start the 100-lap, $35,000-to-win main event and stormed through the field. Ferguson eventually recorded a Top-10 finish in seventh.
