Ferguson fifth in Rumble by the River prelim at Port Royal
Friday night found Chris Ferguson in action at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) aboard his Diff-Tran Machining No. 22 Late Model for the two-day Rumble by the River.
Drawing a stout field of 62 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Ferguson held onto finish fifth in his heat after officials deemed he jumped the initial start, docking him a row. Chasing a $5,000 payday in his preliminary feature, Chris charged forward eight spots in the 25-lapper to register a fifth-place finish, trailing Brandon Overton, Jonathan Davenport, Mike Marlar, and Michael Norris across the line.
On Saturday, Chris missed a transfer spot by one car in his heat, relegating him into a B-Main. Sending the top-two into the $50,000-to-win Rumble by the River A-Main, Ferguson raced into the 50-lapper with the second-and-final transfer spot. Starting in 21st, Chris made contact with the wall on lap 27 that resulted in an early exit.
