Chris Ferguson third in Grassy Smith Memorial at Cherokee

Taking part in the 23rd annual Grassy Smith Memorial, Chris Ferguson made the short trip to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Saturday afternoon for the Mid-East Super Late Models sanctioned event.

With a heat race victory placing him on the second row for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Ferguson inched forward one spot in the 50-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He chased Trent Ivey and Ben Watkins to the checkers with Jeff Smith and Anthony Sanders rounding out the top-five.
