Ferguson suffers flat tire while leading at Cherokee

Chris Ferguson made the short trip Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Saturday afternoon to pilot his Diff-Tran Machining No. 22 Late Model for the Big Chief 40. With 27 Ultimate Southeast Series entries on hand, Ferguson locked into the pole for the feature with the fastest lap in time trials. After taking command of the lead, Chris suffered a flat right-rear tire while coming to the white flag that ended his run. He limped across the line in 14th. (Kevin Ritchie photo)
