Mechanical woes surface in Diamond Nationals at Wheatland

Making his lone start of weekend, Chris Ferguson trekked to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Saturday afternoon for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned CMH Diamond Nationals. With lingering rain delaying the program for several hours, Ferguson recorded a sixth-place finish in his heat before placing fifth in his B-Main. Relying on a provisional into the $15,000-to-win A-Main, Chris began his march early and had already passed 10 cars when a shredded right-rear tire broke his 4-link bar and damaged his birdcage.
