Fourth-place finish in Cotton Pickin’ 100 finale

Chris Ferguson was one of 34 Late Models registered at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) on Friday afternoon for the annual Cotton Pickin’ 100 weekend. Dropping one spot in his heat race, Ferguson grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot, which positioned him 15th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. On Saturday evening, Chris came in 10th fastest in his time trial group before placing fifth in his heat race. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the $12,000-to-win Cotton Pickin’ 100, Ferguson jumped up one spot to pick up the 10-lap consolation victory. Starting the finale in 18th, Chris Ferguson advanced through the field 14 spots in the 70-lap affair to finish fourth behind Chris Madden, Tim McCreadie, and Billy Moyer Jr. with Tyler Erb coming in fifth.
